In the next 26 to 29 October 2016, Casa das Artes, in Oporto, hosts the XII International Congress on Pathology and Rehabilitation of Structures (CINPAR 2016). This is one of the most important conferences in the structures’ engineering domain.

International experts in the field of structures’ strengthening and rehabilitation will pass through Oporto, from 26 to 29 October, in an event organized by the Oporto University Engineering College (FEUP), in partnership with the CONSTRUCT Research Unit - Institute of R&D of Structures and Construction, with the Laboratory of Seismic and Structural Engineering (LESE), with the Institute of Construction (IC) and with the State University Vale do Acaraú, in Brazil.

The XII International Congress on Pathology and Rehabilitation of Structures will address subjects such as the structural pathology, structural materials, proceedures, structures projects and historical and inherited estate.

We are talking about an area that has had "a significant boost", namely due to "the increasing awareness of the construction sector’s several players" and to the "emergence of new materials and constructive techniques", asserts CINPAR 2016 website.

Knowledge and experiences exchanges

This World Congress is an excellent opportunity to stay abreast of the most recent techniques and technologies in the structures rehabilitation and reinforcement domain.

The event, as the organization highlights, aims "to disseminate and discuss structures inspections methods and materials characterization", "to present and discuss buildings most frequent pathologies" and "to get to know and analyze the main causes of pathologies which is a key aspect for rehabilitation to succeed".

“The most used materials in the rehabilitation and reinforcement works of existing structures” will also be disclosed, during CINPAR 2016, and “solutions for structures rehabilitation and reinforcement” will be presented and discussed, as pointed out by the event´s organizers.

It will also be a great opportunity to “promote the experiences exchanges” between professionals, with broad competence and knowledge, working in this area, accordingly to the Congress promoters.

Finally, we highlight that the Congress best three interventions will be distinguished with the “Best Young Investigator Article”, “Best Scientific Article” and “Best Technical Article” awards.
